54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Ha Mim. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
