Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim: 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 Giving glad tidings [of Paradise to the one who believes in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) and fears Allah much (abstains from all kinds of sins and evil deeds) and loves Allah much (performing all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)], and warning (of punishment in the Hell Fire to the one who disbelieves in the Oneness of Allah), but most of them turn away, so they listen not. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
