Ha. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
