Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 This is the revelations from the Beneficent, Merciful God. 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 who pay not the alms, and disbelieve in the world to come. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
