Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ha Mim 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 a divine writ, the messages whereof have been clearly spelled out as a discourse in the Arabic tongue for people of [innate] knowledge, 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
