Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
