Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
