Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 Those who practise not regular Charity, and who even deny the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
