Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 And they say: Our hearts are protected from that unto which thou (O Muhammad) callest us, and in our ears there is a deafness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act, then. Lo! we also shall be acting. 5 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I am only a human being like you. It is inspired in me that your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God - Allah), therefore take Straight Path to Him (with true Faith Islamic Monotheism) and obedience to Him, and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe to Al-Mushrikun (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, idolaters, etc. - see V. 2:105). 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
