The day the enemies of God will be gathered at the Fire and the records of their deeds will be distributed, 19 Till, when they reach it, their ears and their eyes and their skins testify against them as to what they used to do. 20 And they will say to their skins, “Why did you testify against us?"; they will say, “Allah has made us talk, Who has given all things the power of speech, and it is He Who created you the first time, and it is to Him that you have to return.” 21 When you used to conceal yourselves (while committing misdeeds) you never thought that your ears or your eyes or your skins would ever bear witness against you; you rather fancied that Allah does not know a great deal of what you do. 22 "But this thought of yours which ye did entertain concerning your Lord, hath brought you to destruction, and (now) have ye become of those utterly lost!" 23 If, then, they have patience, the Fire will be a home for them! and if they beg to be received into favour, into favour will they not (then) be received. 24 ۞ We had assigned to them close companions who made their past and present look attractive to them; and the fate that had once befallen the communities of jinns and men before them was justified upon them. They were indeed bound to perish. 25
