The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alim. Lam. Mim. 1 Allah! There is no god save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. 2 He has sent down upon thee the Book with the truth, confirming what was before it, and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel 3 Surely they who disbelieve in the communications of Allah they shall have a severe chastisement; and Allah is Mighty, the Lord of retribution. 4 Lo! nothing in the earth or in the heavens is hidden from Allah. 5 It is He who shapes you in your mothers' wombs as He wills. There is no god except Him, the Almighty, the Wise. 6 It is He who sent down upon thee the Book, wherein are verses clear that are the Essence of the Book, and others ambiguous. As for those in whose hearts is swerving, they follow the ambiguous part, desiring dissension, and desiring its interpretation; and none knows its interpretation, save only God. And those firmly rooted in knowledge say, 'We believe in it; all is from our Lord'; yet none remembers, but men possessed of minds. 7 Our Lord! suffer not our hearts to deviate after that Thou hast guided us, and bestow on us from Thine presence mercy. Verily Thou! Thou art the Bestower! 8 Our Lord! Lo! it is Thou Who gatherest mankind together to a Day of which there is no doubt. Lo! Allah faileth not to keep the tryst. 9
