Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

53 verses, revealed in Mecca after Elucidated (Fussilat) before Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ha-Mim. 1 'AeenSeenQaaf 2 So reveals to thee, and to those before thee, God, the All-mighty, the All-wise. 3 To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. He is the High, the Exalted. 4 The skies are near to bursting asunder above them (for awe of Him), and the angels sing the praises of their Lord, imploring forgiveness for the dwellers of the earth. Is it not that God is forgiving and merciful? 5 God is the guardian of even those who have chosen others (idols) besides Him as their guardians (Muhammad), you will not have to answer for them. 6 And thus We have inspired in thee a Lecture in Arabic, that thou mayst warn the mother-town and those around it, and mayst warn of a day of assembling whereof there is no doubt. A host will be in the Garden, and a host of them in the Flame. 7 Had God so willed, He could have made all of them one community, but He admits into His mercy whom He wills; and the wrongdoers have neither protector, nor helper. 8 Have they taken for themselves protectors other than Him? But it is God who is the real Protector. He resurrects the dead, and He has power over all things. 9
