Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HaMeem 1 'Ain. Sin. Qaf. 2 Thus God, the Powerful, the Wise, sends revelation to you as He did to those before you. 3 His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; He is the Most High, the All-Great. 4 The heavens are almost split asunder from above as the angels sing their Lord's praise and seek forgiveness for those on earth. God is indeed the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 5 And [as for] those who take protectors besides Him, God is watching them and you are not a guardian over them. 6 And thus did We reveal this Arabic Qur'an to you that you may warn the people of the Mother of Cities (to wit, Makkah) and those who dwell around it; and warn them of the Day of Gathering concerning which there is no doubt: whereon some will be in Paradise, and some in the Blazing Fire. 7 And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper. 8 (Are they so foolish that) they have chosen others rather than Allah as their protectors? Yet it is Allah Who is the Protector and Who resurrects the dead and Who has power over everything. 9
