Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 And you cannot escape in the earth, and you shall not have a guardian or a helper besides Allah. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 Whatever ye are given (here) is (but) a convenience of this life: but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting: (it is) for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord: 36 who refrain from heinous sins and gross indecencies; who forgive when they are angry; 37 Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance; 38 And those who defend themselves when they are wronged. 39 The retribution of a harmful deed is the harm equal to it; so whoever forgives and makes amends, so his reward is upon Allah; indeed He does not befriend the unjust. 40 Yet indeed, as for any who defend themselves after having been wronged - no blame whatever attaches to them: 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 Surely, he who bears patiently and forgives indeed that is true constancy. 43
