Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth, nor do you have a guardian and a helper other than Allah. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains. 32 if He so wills, He stills the wind, and then they lie motionless on the sea's surface - [and] herein, behold, there are messages indeed for all who are wholly patient in adversity and deeply grateful [to God]; 33 or He could have destroyed them as punishment for the human being's deeds. However, God pardons many sins. 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; 38 And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves, 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 And whosoever harms after he has been harmed there is no blame upon them. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 whoever is patient and forgiving, acts with great courage and resolution. 43
