Whatever misfortune befalls you is a consequence of your own deeds. But much of it He forgives. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and, apart from God, you have neither protector nor helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 He could stop the wind if He pleased, then they would be stranded on its surface. Surely there are signs in this for every one who perseveres and is grateful. 33 Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much. 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 who refrain from heinous sins and gross indecencies; who forgive when they are angry; 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 And those who, when great wrong is done to them, defend themselves, 39 The retribution of a harmful deed is the harm equal to it; so whoever forgives and makes amends, so his reward is upon Allah; indeed He does not befriend the unjust. 40 And there is no way of reproach against those who take revenge after being wronged. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
