Now whatever calamity may befall you [on Judgment Day] will be an outcome of what your own hands have wrought, although He pardons much; 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth, nor do you have a guardian and a helper other than Allah. 31 Among His signs are the ships sailing like mountains on the sea: 32 If He will He calmeth the wind so that they keep still upon its surface - Lo! herein verily are signs for every steadfast grateful (heart). - 33 Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much. 34 Those who dispute Our verses may know that they have no asylum. 35 Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord, 36 (This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry, 37 who obey their Lord and establish Prayer; who conduct their affairs by consultation, and spend out of what We have bestowed upon them; 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors, polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.). 40 And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment. 42 But surely he who bears patiently and is forgiving -- surely that is true constancy. 43
