Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 Or, He wrecks them for what they have earned, but He pardons a lot. 34 Those who dispute Our verses may know that they have no asylum. 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 And those who avoid the major sins and indecencies and, when angered, forgive; 37 and those who answer their Lord, and perform the prayer, their affair being counsel between them, and they expend of that We have provided them, 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). 41 Blame lies on those who oppress, and terrorise the land unjustly. For them there is painful punishment. 42 Surely, he who bears patiently and forgives indeed that is true constancy. 43
