Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea like landmarks. 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 or else He may cause them to perish because of what they have wrought; and [withal,] He pardons much. 34 Those who dispute Our verses may know that they have no asylum. 35 So whatsoever things are vouchsafed unto you are but a passing enjoyment for the life of the world, and that which is with Allah, better and more lasting, is for those who believe and in their Lord put their trust. 36 and who shun the more heinous sins and abominations; and who, whenever they are moved to anger, readily forgive; 37 and who respond to [the call of] their Sustainer and are constant in prayer; and whose rule [in all matters of common concern] is consultation among themselves; and who spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance; 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge. 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). 41 Blame lies on those who oppress, and terrorise the land unjustly. For them there is painful punishment. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
