Whatever misfortune befalls you is a consequence of your own deeds. But much of it He forgives. 30 Nor can ye frustrate (aught), (fleeing) through the earth; nor have ye, besides Allah, any one to protect or to help. 31 And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea; 32 If He wills, He can calm the winds so the ships remain still on the sea surface; indeed in this are signs for every greatly enduring, grateful person. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 And for those who dispute regarding Our signs to realise; that they do not have a place to escape to. 35 Whatever you have received is just a means of enjoyment for this life but the reward of God for the believers and those who trust in their Lord will be better and everlasting. 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 and those who answer their Lord, and perform the prayer, their affair being counsel between them, and they expend of that We have provided them, 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 If one avenges himself after he has been wronged, there is no way of blaming him. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 But he who patiently endures and forgives, that is a conduct of great resolve. 43
