Whatever affliction may visit you is for what you own hands have earned; and He pardons much. 30 And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 And those who dispute in respect of Our revelations may know that for them there is no place of shelter. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 and those who answer their Lord, and perform the prayer, their affair being counsel between them, and they expend of that We have provided them, 38 And those who, when great wrong is done to them, defend themselves, 39 The recompense for evil will be equivalent to the deed. He who pardons (the evil done to him) and reforms himself, will receive his reward from God. God certainly does not love the unjust. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due to courage. 43
