Whatever misfortune befalls you is a consequence of your own deeds. But much of it He forgives. 30 and you cannot elude Him on earth, and you will have none to protect you from God [in the life to come,] and none to bring you succour. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 If it be His Will He can still the Wind: then would they become motionless on the back of the (ocean). Verily in this are Signs for everyone who patiently perseveres and is grateful. 33 Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much - 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord, 36 and who shun the more heinous sins and abominations; and who, whenever they are moved to anger, readily forgive; 37 who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 And the recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust. 40 And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous. 42 But withal, if one is patient in adversity and forgives - this, behold, is indeed something to set one's heart upon! 43

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
