Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 I call to witness the lucent Book, 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him. 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 Yet if you were to ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will certainly say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them.” 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);- 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 Yet they make some of His creatures His offspring! Man is surely most ungrateful. 15
