Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HA MIM. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 (Yea, the same that) has made for you the earth (like a carpet) spread out, and has made for you roads (and channels) therein, in order that ye may find guidance (on the way); 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
