Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By the Clear Book 2 We have made it an Arabic reading text so that perhaps you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 but whenever a prophet came to them, they mocked him, 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
