Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim. 1 By this luminous Book. 2 Lo! We have appointed it a Lecture, in Arabic that haply ye may understand. 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
