Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha-Mim 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 Lo! We have appointed it a Lecture, in Arabic that haply ye may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 It is He who has created everything in pairs and the ships and cattle for you to ride, 12 That ye mount firmly on the backs thereof, and then may remember the favour of your Lord when ye mount thereon, and may say: hallowed be He Who hath subjected this unto us, and we for it were not fit. 13 indeed, to our Lord we are turning' 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
