Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
HA MIM. 1 By the Clear Book 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom. 4 What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old. 8 And indeed if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them." 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 Who sent down water in due measure from the sky, then quickened a region that was dead -- So shall We bring you forth -- 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 So that you may properly mount their backs, and may remember your Lord’s favour when you have mounted them, and say, “Purity is to Him, Who has given this ride in our control, and we did not have the strength for it.” 13 And lo! unto our Lord we surely are returning. 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
