Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 but whenever a prophet came to them, they mocked him, 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 And if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?”, they will surely say, “They are created by the Most Honourable, the All Knowing.” 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 so that you may sit firmly on their backs. Then once you have mounted them, remember your Lord's favour and say, "Glory be to Him who has subjected these creatures to us; we would never on our own have subdued them. 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
