Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
89 verses, revealed in Mecca after Consultation (Al-Shooraa) before Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha-Mim 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 Verily We! We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that haply ye may reflect. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 If thou askest them, 'Who created the heavens and earth?' they will say, 'The All-mighty, the All-knowing created them.' 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 that you may be seated on their backs and then remember your Lord's blessing when you are seated on them, and say, 'Glory be to Him, who has subjected this to us, and we ourselves were not equal to it; 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 Yet they make some of His creatures His offspring! Man is surely most ungrateful. 15

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
