Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim 1 By this luminous Book. 2 Verily We! We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that haply ye may reflect. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? 5 And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old. 6 And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 Surely we have to go back to our Lord." 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
