Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HaMeem. 1 By oath of the clear Qur’an. 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount. 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
