Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By the Scripture which maketh plain, 2 We have made it an Arabic reading text so that perhaps you may understand. 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities, 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 And indeed if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them." 9 Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
