Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 Yet if you were to ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will certainly say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them.” 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 And He it is who sends down, again and again, waters from the sky in due measure: and [as] We raise therewith dead land to life, even thus will you be brought forth [from the dead]. 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
