Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By this luminous Book. 2 We have made it an Arabic reading text so that perhaps you may understand. 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 And if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?”, they will surely say, “They are created by the Most Honourable, the All Knowing.” 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
