Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 I call to witness the lucent Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic reading text so that perhaps you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities, 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 If thou askest them, 'Who created the heavens and earth?' they will say, 'The All-mighty, the All-knowing created them.' 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 It is He who has created everything in pairs and the ships and cattle for you to ride, 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 And lo! unto our Lord we surely are returning. 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
