Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 And if you should ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth? they would most certainly say: The Mighty, the Knowing One, has created them; 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
