Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 He Who sent down water from the sky in a determined measure, and thereby We revived a dead land: likewise will you be raised up (from the earth) -- 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 so that you may sit firmly on their backs. Then once you have mounted them, remember your Lord's favour and say, "Glory be to Him who has subjected these creatures to us; we would never on our own have subdued them. 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
