Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth; 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
