Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. 3 Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 And if you should ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth? they would most certainly say: The Mighty, the Knowing One, has created them; 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 And He it is who sends down, again and again, waters from the sky in due measure: and [as] We raise therewith dead land to life, even thus will you be brought forth [from the dead]. 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
