Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the clear Book, 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 and so, [in the end,] We destroyed them [even though they were] of greater might than these: and the [very] image of those people of old became a thing of the past. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 He it is who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has provided for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, so that you might follow the right path. 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
