Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the earlier peoples! 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 We destroyed the strongest among them in power. The stories of the ancient people have already been mentioned. 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 That ye may mount upon their backs, and may remember your Lord's favour when ye mount thereon, and may say: Glorified be He Who hath subdued these unto us, and we were not capable (of subduing them); 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
