Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples, 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 Who sent down water in due measure from the sky, then quickened a region that was dead -- So shall We bring you forth -- 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
