And when Ibrahim said to his father and his people, “I have no relation whatsoever with your deities.” 26 "(I worship) only Him Who made me, and He will certainly guide me." 27 And he made it a word to continue in his posterity that they may return. 28 I gave them and their fathers days of enjoyment until the truth and a clear Messenger came to them. 29 And when the truth cometh unto them, they say this is magic, and verily we are therein disbelievers. 30 They say, 'Why was this Koran not sent down upon some man of moment in the two cities?' 31 Shall they apportion their Lord's mercy? It is We Who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of the world, and raised some of them over others in degrees, so that one of them may take another as a serf; and the mercy of thy Lord is better than that which they amass. 32 And were it not that all mankind would have become of one community (all disbelievers, desiring worldly life only), We would have provided for those who disbelieve in the Most Beneficent (Allah), silver roofs for their houses, and elevators (and stair-ways, etc. of silver) whereby they ascend, 33 and doors to their houses, and couches whereon to recline, 34 And ornament of gold. And yet all that would have been but a provision of the life of the world; and the Hereafter with thy Lord is for the Godfearing. 35
