And when Ibrahim said to his father and his people, “I have no relation whatsoever with your deities.” 26 except for the One who has created me and will guide me". 27 And Abraham left behind this word to endure among his posterity so that they may return to it. 28 Nay! I gave them and their fathers to enjoy until there came to them the truth and an Apostle making manifest (the truth). 29 And when the truth came to them, they said, 'This is a sorcery, and in it we are unbelievers.' 30 They also said: "Why was this Qur'an not sent down to some great man of the two cities?" 31 Are they the distributors of your Lord’s mercy? We have distributed among them their comforts in the life of this world, and gave high status to some over others so that they mock at each other; and the mercy of your Lord is better than all what they hoard. 32 Were it not that all mankind would become a single community (and follow the same way), We would have provided for all those who disbelieve in the Merciful One silver roofs for their houses, and (silver) stairs on which to go up, 33 and silver doors to their houses and silver couches on which to recline, 34 And adornments of gold. Yet all this (i.e. the roofs, doors, stairs, elevators, thrones etc. of their houses) would have been nothing but an enjoyment of this world. And the Hereafter with your Lord is only for the Muttaqun. 35
