He who is negligent to remember the Merciful One, to him We assign a satan as his boon companion, 36 And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 (He will then be told): “Today it will not benefit you the least that after your wrong-doing you and your satans now share the chastisement.” 39 Can you make the deaf to hear, or show the blind, and those lost in clear error, the way? 40 So if We take you away, We shall then indeed take revenge from them. 41 or We shall show you what We have promised them; for surely We have complete power over them. 42 So hold you (O Muhammad SAW) fast to that which is inspired in you. Verily, you are on a Straight Path. 43 it is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be called to account. 44 Inquire of apostles We had sent before you if We appointed gods to be worshipped other than Ar-Rahman. 45
