Whoso blinds himself to the Remembrance of the All-merciful, to him We assign a Satan for comrade; 36 Devils divert men from the [right] way, while they think that they are rightly guided. 37 To the extent that when the disbeliever will be brought to Us, he will say to his devil, “Alas – if only there was the distance* of east and west, between you and me!” – so what an evil companion** he is! (* Had I not listened to you. **They will be bound together in chains.) 38 And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment. 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 Even if We take you away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 Hold thou fast wherefore to that which is revealed unto thee: verily thou art on the straight path. 43 and, verily, this [revelation] shall indeed become [a source of] eminence for thee and thy people: but in time you all will be called to account [for what you have done with it]. 44 Inquire of apostles We had sent before you if We appointed gods to be worshipped other than Ar-Rahman. 45
