Al-Zukhruf 4 of 7

As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 But nothing will avail you on that day, for you were unjust, and you will be partners in the punishment. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 Or show you what We have promised them – We therefore have complete control over them. 42 So hold thou fast to that which is inspired in thee. Lo! thou art on a right path. 43 It is a (source) of greatness for you and your people. You will surely be questioned about it. 44 Ask those of Our Messengers We sent before thee: Have We appointed, apart from the All-merciful, gods to be served? 45
