To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, 36 And most surely they turn them away from the path, and they think that they are guided aright: 37 When such a person comes to Us, he will say [to his comrade], "If only you had been as far away from me as east is from west. What an evil comrade!" 38 But nothing will avail you on that day, for you were unjust, and you will be partners in the punishment. 39 Can you, (O Prophet), then make the deaf hear, or direct to the Right Way the blind or one lost in manifest error? 40 We shall revenge them either after your death 41 Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. Surely you are on the Straight Way. 43 Surely it is a Reminder to thee and to thy people; and assuredly you will be questioned. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
