Al-Zukhruf 4 of 7

And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent Allah, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate. 36 whereupon, behold, these [evil impulses] bar all such from the path [of truth,] making them think that they are guided aright! 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 It shall not profit you today, since you did evil, that you are partners in the chastisement. 39 CANST THOU, perchance, [O Muhammad,] make the deaf hear, or show the right way to the blind or to such as are obviously lost in error? 40 So if We take you away, We shall then indeed take revenge from them. 41 Or show you some of what We have promised them. They are certainly well within Our power. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. Surely you are on the Straight Way. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
